Late at night, we received a call from our sister company, Rescue Plumbing needing structural drying services and assistance with locating a leak at their customer’s home. We quickly sent out a team of certified professionals to help with this job.
Cracked Cast Iron Drain Pipe Caused Leak
Once our team arrived on site, they used a thermal imaging tool to help the plumbers identify where the leak was coming from. A thermal imaging tool helps identify areas of moisture and water damage via infrared technology.
The imaging tool led us to discover that the leak was caused by a crack in a cast iron drain pipe in the wall. Water had leaked from the cracked pipe into the wall and ceiling of the basement bedroom.
The plumbers on site quickly repaired the pipe, allowing us to start the drying process immediately.
